Something Epic (Copy)
It’s not every day we have the chance to make something epic together, so when we do, we should give it our all. That’s why I now present to you the first look at our most ambitious and impactful effort yet to create beauty and encourage those who hear it. At least we’ll become better versions of ourselves through the attempt, and at best, we’ll change the world.
Thank you
Video Script:
“Hi friends, it is your proverbial boy, Barron Ryan, here to thank you for the extraordinary support you showed some three—almost four years ago. Together we raised $41,000 to create The Masters’ Apprentice, an album through which we encouraged listeners to be resilient when confronting failure. Thank you for your tremendous generosity, and I am over the moon to share with you the next chapter in our story.”
Thank you to these amazing patrons!
First of Its Kind
This new album will literally be First of Its Kind—seriously, that’s its name—, and it’s a call to be daring. It’s for anyone who’s ever wanted to set off on an adventure, overcome adversity, and return victorious, but might be a little scared to try. From Martin Luther King, Jr. to Oprah Winfrey to Steve Jobs, we relish the stories of people who dare to be different. It’s time to emulate those courageous leaders and start blazing trails our own trails.
Through First of Its Kind, we’ll prove that being daring is worth the risk. We’ll show that a previously unknown pianist from Tulsa, OK can inspire the world with his honest story of struggle, discovery, and triumph. We’ll demonstrate that how you approach life’s adventures—with truth, confidence, humility, and a desire to serve—is far more important than what exactly you do in the moment.
Granted, this is a pretty grand goal for a classical piano album, but I completely believe that with the right strategy and resources, it’s possible. The big problem … no, the big opportunity is that I can’t accomplish it on my own. For such an audacious goal, I’m asking for your help.
An Audacious Goal
We already have tremendous momentum to build upon from the 2017 release of The Masters’ Apprentice. That project told the story of an upstart pianist who persevered through graduate school rejection and a career-threatening injury to discover his unique musical voice. Our efforts have already yielded unprecedented results: dozens more concerts booked, moving out of my storage unit/practice room (!), and most importantly, thousands more people who have been uplifted by breathtaking music and an inspirational true story.
Hold onto your hats, because First of Its Kind’s potential is even greater. It continues that pianist’s story, and now he’s headed off on a bigger adventure. He’s daring to be considered alongside the greatest names in music—Bach, Beethoven, The Beatles (add your own names too)—because he’s attempting to not just perform, but write works that will stand the test of time.
The value of this album hinges upon the convergence of two factors: story and beauty
best possible version of yourself
Our strategies have also developed since last time. We’ll implement new tactics to reach big-time press and music outlets like Performance Today, Rolling Stone, and NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts. We’ll host an amazing release concert in Tulsa, OK. We’ll arrange a performance at the Association for Performing Arts Professionals conference in New York City. We’re even considering an appearance at Carnegie Hall!
Achieving this audacious goal will require two things. The first is a lot of hard work to strategize for and execute all these ideas. We’ve worked together before though, so I know that a bit of effort is no match for us. The second is financial support. We’re looking at a cost of $57,000 to pull off this feat. But once again, we’ve worked together before, and I’m confident that we can surmount this hurdle too.
I have more to share about the specifics of our past successes, ways to help, and how this process will unfold, but you may be ready to help already. Does that describe you? If so, let’s not delay. Just click the button:
